✨ Healing isn’t linear. ✨
A conversation with a client today reminded me that sometimes, the process of healing and trusting God doesn’t look like we expect. We talked about past traumas, the shame that can come with them, and the emotions that still linger—like tears.
She shared that she felt she wasn’t trusting God because she still cried about the past. But I pushed back: crying isn’t a sign of weakness or doubt—it’s often a form of purification. It’s the body’s way of releasing the hurt, or clearing the space for healing.
I shared my own story with her—how once, in preparation for speaking about my own past, I cried. But it wasn’t guilt or shame I felt. It was compassion—for the little girl who had gone through the pain I’d experienced.
Sometimes, our tears aren’t signs of brokenness—they’re signs of compassion. They show us that we are not forgotten, and that our hearts are still capable of deep healing.
To anyone out there still carrying the weight of the past: don’t judge yourself for your tears. They might just be your soul’s way of loving and healing itself.
❤️ Healing isn’t about perfection—it’s about compassion.
